An unusual view of Addiewell

This is a rare photograph of Addiewell, taken from the south side of the pond.  The photographer was looking northeast towards Davy Street, Stephenson Street and Watt Street.

It was probably taken when demolition of the old village had already begun, as the southern block of houses on Stephenson Street (the middle row in the photo) seems to have already been knocked down.

On the left, at right angles to the other houses, can be seen part of Livingstone Street.

In the foreground, you can see the allotments that lined the north side of the pond.
